Stoves for the bath "Varvara": a review of models
Russia is always associated with frost and a bath. When the heated body dives into the hole, when the frosty air and snow penetrate the steamed skin ... It is difficult to argue with these ancient Russian symbols. Yes, and not worth it. In the coldest corners of the country there is a bath in every yard. How do local craftsmen manage to create a proper, competent and safe construction? Properly selected and installed oven is half the battle.
Advantages and disadvantages
One of the most famous sauna stoves today is the products of the Tver manufacturer Dero and Co. The company shows itself in the Russian market as a high-quality supplier of products for more than ten years. In the manufacture of stoves for baths and saunas, this manufacturer relies primarily on its own and foreign experience.
The voice of customers, to whom, first of all, the company is oriented, is also very important for them.
Among the advantages of the Varvara furnace are the following key points.
- Individual equipment for the order. The manufacturer takes into account all the needs of the buyer, which may affect the final price of the product.
- Effective heating rate. The convection system and the material from which the furnaces are made allows to warm the bathhouse in one and a half hours or less.
- Economical price and usage. The price depends on the size of the furnace and equipment. It does not require additional maintenance from the side more than once a year or two. The unique combustion system saves the main fuel - wood.
- Wear resistance. The furnace itself is made of metal with a thickness of at least six millimeters, and the water tank is made of high-quality stainless steel, so the option of burning through is minimized.
- Simplified operation. The oven is very easy to clean due to the round hole in the back, which is covered with a special plug.
- Aesthetic appearance. Some models are lined with natural stone, in others - mesh thermocasing for laying out stones, in the third - a panoramic front door made of heat-resistant glass.
Also, the Varvara stoves have a small weight compared with their “colleagues” (sometimes it does not exceed 100 kg).
It should be noted and disadvantages of this wonderful stovebased on the observations of buyers, extremely dissatisfied with their purchase.
- The water in the tank is heated more slowly than usual. Professionals offer to solve this problem by installing an additional heat exchanger on the chimney. After that, the water temperature rises as quickly as possible, so you need to ensure that the water in the tank does not boil.
- condensate in the chimney. Problem with pipe installation option. The stove is running at a slow fire, that is, at a constant heating. Because of this, the temperature at the exit of the chimney is low, resulting in the formation of condensate.
The masters of the stove and bathing business recommend making the chimney pipe at least 50 cm longer than the tank.
One of the additional recommendations is a complete rejection of birch wood. It is unacceptable to heat a stove with such fuel.In some cases, there was a gap seam. The manufacturer assures that all measures to eliminate this deficiency have been taken, birch firewood received amnesty and can be used on an equal basis with others. The happy owners of the “Varvara” stoves, who tested it on their own experience, have not yet commented on this circumstance.
As can be seen from the shortcomings of the furnace for the bath of the domestic manufacturer, it acquires the best functionality when properly installed.
Device
There is a whole range of stoves "Barbara". In order to disassemble the device of the products of the “Dero and K” trademark as accurately as possible, we will focus on the simplest of them. This sauna stove is not an economic or technological miracle.
Her device is quite typical and simple:
- The combustion chamber is the place where fuel is burned. Since the stove is on wood, any wood logs will do.
- Afterburner system - here the flue gases that were formed in the firebox disintegrate.
- Grid-irons and ash scoop serve as assistants in the collection of wood solid residues.
- A sophisticated chimney system works as efficiently as possible when properly installed.
- The protective cover provides heat to the room.
An important component of the furnace "Varvara" is its cleaning system - a hole with a plug on the back of the stove, which is easily cleaned from soot with an ordinary brush. But such a hole appeared only years later in the latest models. Professionals suggest that in outdated stoves you can make your own place for cleaning. The cut should be in the upper third of the rear wall and fall directly into the smoke channel.
The main thing is to be careful and create the maximum tightness in this particular place, i.e., make a tight plug as well.
The lineup
The manufacturer responsibly declares that before proceeding to the manufacture of sauna stoves, a number of studies and tests were carried out. Let us dwell on the main models of the Varvara furnaces and consider their advantages and disadvantages in more detail.
"Fairy Tale" and "Terma Tale" - these are convection-accumulating furnaces that heat up the room as quickly as possible and keep it warm for a very long time. The walls and top of the stoves are made of natural stone - talcochlorite. These two stoves differ in a reservoir for stones. In “The Fairy Tale” it is an open heater, in “Terma's fairy tale” it is a closed “trunk” with a lid. The second contributes to the heating of stones to the maximum temperature. Both are designed to warm the steam room no more than 24 square meters. Weight - up to 200 kg assembled.
The same models, but marked with the prefix "mini", warm up the steam room no more than 12 squares.
Furnaces "Kamenka" and "Terma Kamenka" have several modifications.
- "Kamenka". The maximum load of stones is 180-200 kg, the time of warming up the room to 24 square meters is no more than one and a half hours. The weight of the oven assembled - up to 120 kg.
- "Kamenka elongated firebox." The length of the combustion chamber is 100 mm longer than the first one. Weight is also not more than 120 kilograms.
- "Kamenka mini" made specifically for small steam rooms - up to 12 m2. Very compact, easy to install and operate. It weighs no more than 85 kg.
- "Kamenka mini elongated furnace". 90 kg weigh, it is calculated on the small volume of the pair room.
“Terma Kamenka” is divided into modifications according to the same principle as the simple “Kamenka”. The only difference is the closed heater at the first one.
Mini oven can be installed even in the smallest bath, due to its compact size. A variety of subspecies, the main feature of which is the division into the classical, with a shortened fire chamber and with an extended fire chamber, has three options:
- "Mini without contour";
- "Mini hinged";
- "Mini with contour."
All of them are very effective, despite their overall dimensions. The double convection system is preserved in this furnace, which contributes to the rapid heating of the room and the heater. It can be complemented by a water circuit and different types of combustion chamber, and it can also function perfectly with a side mounted tank.
"Mini with contour" - It is a furnace with a heat exchanger built into the combustion chamber, which is designed to heat the water in the tank (usually up to 50 liters of volume) located at a decent distance from the furnace.
"Polennitsa", as well as "Mini", happens hinged, with a contour and without contour. But this model is designed for more room. Hinged tank or water circuit here already reach a larger volume than in the "Mini", namely 55 liters.
Each of the models is successfully completed with additional elements that allow the furnace to function as efficiently and comfortably as possible.
Additional elements
The same supplier has a number of additions that can be additionally ordered and installed in the bath.
- Remote combustion chamber. It happens that the wall between the steam room and the rest room does not allow the firebox to be brought into the adjacent room. Therefore, they are made immediately with different sizes of fireboxes: shortened, standard and elongated.
- Hinged tank. It is a classic water tank, which is mounted on the left or the right in a specially designed recess - a pocket. The tank is made entirely of stainless steel with a thickness of no more than one millimeter.
- Panoramic door is more decorative element than practical and functional.
- Water tanklocated on the chimney pipe, allows you to use the shower in case the bath is equipped with running water.
- Heat exchanger An additional element for heating water in the tank, located at a distance from the stove. It is very important to monitor the filling of the heat exchanger. If it is not complete, it can lead to its depressurization.
This bath stove is good because it can harmoniously fit into the interior of any bath in its original form, and can serve efficiently and effectively, lined with brick. At the same time, it attracts not only the Russian spirit and aesthetic value to the room. With this installation, there are additional power to accelerate the heating of the steam room.
Thus, the Varvara stove acquires the image of a domestic stove designer, which is very easy to adjust not only to the preferences and additional requests of its owner, but also to fit into the interior of any small or large Russian bath.
Customer Reviews
According to the owners of "Varvara", this oven is simple and effective. They all describe the advantages, give advice on installation and maintenance. Of the negative aspects, users most often indicate problems with cleaning, intermittent loss of traction, erratic laying of grid bars. The latter occurs when the furnace is melted down, and the walls of the firebox are deformed.
On the manufacturer, buyers do not respond very flatteringly. It is noticed that technologists constantly on time respond to questions from their customers. But when it comes to replacing one or another component (the fault of the furnace owner or the manufacturer), problems arise.
Today, the manufacturer continues to produce high-quality stoves for baths. Now all the flaws in the existing models are being actively developed. Also, the manufacturer promises to soon release an updated series of classic furnaces. What specifically will be changed, not disclosed.
The cost of stoves for the bath “Varvara” ranges from 12,500 rubles for the “Mini” to 49,500 rubles for the “Terma Tale”. Each of the models has its own advantages. But the main thing is the quality checked by time and grown on the last corrected errors.
Professionals advise also to pay attention to some important points, according to the instructions.
- Protecting the base of the furnace from overheating and burning. One of the simplest recipes for making such protection is the use of bricks and galvanized sheet. Two rows of “fire stones” are placed on the concrete solution, and the top is covered with a sheet of metal. The area of such a base should be approximately 10 cm larger than the area of the bottom of the furnace.
- Control of the temperature of the heated water.
- The choice of pipes, the quality of which does not depend on the pressure drop and temperature. Plastic is strictly not recommended here.
- Constant cleaning of the ash pan and chimney so that soot does not accumulate, which hampers the operation of the furnace as a whole.
- Preheater furnace before installing it in the room.
- Laying in the heaters of the river and sea pebbles, jadeite (close to jade), soapstone, gabbro-diabase (in composition close to basalt), raspberry quartzite, white quartz (aka boulder), basalt and cast iron stones.
Also, when building a bath and installing a stove in it, you should consult with a professional stove. This will help not only to prolong its service life, but also to fully enjoy all the advantages of the products of the Russian manufacturer.
